QuiltJam – build a quilt to a banging soundtrack.

Quilt-Jam-logo.jpg

Join textile artist and quilt designer Ant Perring for a fabric-fuelled quilt race with a soundtrack of road-trip-worthy rocking tunes.

Pick up some quilty tips and tricks while you race your way to a brand-new quilt project.

QuiltJam is suitable for beginners and seasoned stitchers alike can book their seats now for a low pressure, no-judgement workshop.

You’ll be stitching away to the time constraints of the songs, so there’s no time for analysis paralysis, and you’ll walk away with enough blocks for a small quilt project.

Requirements

Bring a sewing machine and your sewing supplies. You should be able to set up your machine and have a basic understanding of how to use it. Be sure to pack your pedal – you’ll be the one in the driver’s seat.

Bring the good fabric scissors (if your kids haven’t got to them first) or a rotary cutter, ruler and mat.

You’ll need two pieces of fabric about 1m – 1.5m each, a light colour and a dark colour (for maximum contrast).  QuiltJam is a perfect opportunity to use some left-over fabric or recycle a couple of men’s business shirts. Don’t stress about picking the “right” fabric, we’ll have some extra available at the QuiltJam if you get stuck.

Ant will supply extra sewing supplies, a set of directions to take home and most importantly an epic mix-tape of tunes -everything you need to start a QuiltJam quilt. After this workshop you’ll be hooked!
