2014 $40,000 Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award
The 2014 JADA is currently on tour to seven regional galleries across NSW and Queensland.
JADA is the flagship of the Grafton Regional Gallery which promotes excellence in Australian contemporary drawing. Acquisitions from the JADA enter the Grafton Regional Gallery’s nationally recognised collection of Australian contemporary drawing.
The Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award, established in 1988, developed from the Jacaranda Art Prize that ran from 1961 to 1987. Artists acquired through the JADA include Maria Kontis, Michael Zavros, John Philippides, Gordon Bennett, Godwin Bradbeer, Luke Doyle, David Fairbairn and Deborah Klein.
The $20,000 award and $20,000 of acquisitions made by the judge of the 2014 JADA John McDonald, art critic for the Sydney Morning Herald, is now touring regional galleries throughout NSW and Queensland.
This nationally recognised award is currently on display at Manning Regional Art Gallery until 1st February and then travels to:
