Contemporary Clarence was the theme for the Clarence InFocus competition, which runs in conjunction with the annual plunge Arts and Culture Festival.
Throughout Summer everyone in the Clarence Valley was invited to capture the best of our contemporary culture through photography for entry to this competition now in its fourth year. ‘Contemporary Clarence’ was the theme for the 2018 InFocus competition, which runs in conjunction with the annual plunge Arts and Culture Festival.
The winners in each category will be on display, printed onto larger than life banners in the Gallery courtyard..
This year’s judges and local photographers Adam Hourigan, Simon Hughes and Debrah Novak were impressed that the 180 entries that covered the whole Clarence from country to coast.
The winning works on show at the gallery include:
Bundjalung Warrior by Bianca Monaghan – plunge winner
Bustling Jacarandas by Joy Hayman-Ward – DSLR winner
Dip in the mighty Clarence by Katrina Wade – compact winner
The grey blue textures by Gus Young – mobile winner
Natures canopy by Jordan Nash – youth winner
A slide shown of all entries will be on view in the Loft Gallery.
